We've added in the free version of Cloudflare to our STORM users on our Oxygen packages and above. For speed, security and site performance, Cloudflare is an awesome tool. It’s a content delivery network that works a bit like a pub bouncer – keeping trouble out of your website, so what’s inside can be even more amazing.
It really comes into its own when your website is about to get a spike in traffic, maybe from a big sale or campaign. By having Cloudflare activated for the duration of the spike, you can give your website the resilience to cope, with faster page launches and free, hacker-combatting DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) protection. Good stuff.
Although, you never know when you are going to get attacked or have an unexpected spike in traffic, the clue's in the name really. Unexpected. This is why we recommend having Cloudflare active all the time, as there is really no downside.
But you probably already knew all that. With over 20 million websites worldwide using Cloudflare, and tens of thousands joining every day, it’s a pretty popular choice. If you’ve already got an account, we’ve got some great news. You can now link your Cloudflare account to STORM, making it quicker and easier to turn it on, whenever you see those busy times approaching.
Just log in, set up your Cloudflare account and away you go.
Then, under website configuration, click ‘Cloudflare’ in the left-hand menu and enable Cloudflare on your sites if you need to!
Not on Cloudflare yet? No problem. Have a nosey at the handy guide to how it works on their website and if you decide to sign up, don’t forget to link it to your STORM dashboard too.
