Schedule server restarts daytime, night-time, anytime…

Last month we made it quicker and easier to restart your server, straight from your dashboard.

Now we’re taking things up a level by letting you schedule a restart, any time you like…

Servers need restarting for all sorts of reasons. Maybe you’re upgrading, troubleshooting or trying something out. There’s a whole bunch of scenarios that might make you push that button.

Some of those scenarios call for a super-fast restart – to fix a glitch, to meet a deadline, to get the ball rolling. But not all. In fact, if your restart isn't urgent, it’s usually better done at a quiet time, when your website’s less busy. Like the middle of the night.

Except nobody on your team wants to stay up till the small hours to press go, right? Well, now they don’t have to. Because from today, you’ll be able to schedule server restarts so they happen at a time that suits you. That could be in a few hours, a few days or even a few weeks’ time.

Just go to your server, and in the left-navigation go onto restart services and scroll to the bottom, click schedule,  and choose a date and time that works for you.

Then forget about it. We’ll take it from there. Your work is done.
