Keeping an eye on your site traffic is always a smart idea. Whether you’re checking how many people are finding you, or investigating a sudden spike, great stats help you keep things shipshape. And we’ve got some up our sleeve.
Because from today, we’re launching STORM’s brand new site access log analyser, Statistics. Designed to generate accurate reports, on demand, it’s all about making it quick and easy to get a clear picture of site activity. Handy for boosting performance – and busting problems.
You can use STORM Stats to scan each site’s access logs and instantly see:
- Unique visitors per day
- Total visits today, per hour
- Total requests today by IP
- Top requested files today
- Total visits today by user agent
Already using Google Analytics? Statistics in STORM isn’t about replacing or duplicating it. Instead, it’s here to give you extra visibility, especially around potentially problematic spikes on your server.
Tools like Google Analytics and Webmaster tend not to include things like requests from web crawlers, so while your server might seem super busy, your stats might not show anything unusual. With STORM Stats, you’ll be able to look deeper, spotting when a particular IP address is hitting your server harder than usual, or web crawlers are crowding your site.
And once you know that, it’s easier to track down troublemaking IPs, block them from your site and get your server back up to speed. Knowledge is power, right?
