Faster Page Loading with NGINX

NGINX is an alternative web server that is much faster than the traditional Apache web server. To improve page loading times for web sites on STORM we've implemented NGINX to serve static files. NGINX will automatically serve all static files like images, CSS, Javascript and PDFs much faster than Apache. Requests for PHP files will by pass NGINX and be served from Apache instead. This means you still have control of rewrite functionality using htaccess files. NGINX, by default, is enabled on every new web site.

If you would like to control your static files using htaccess you'll need to disable NGINX. It's really easy to disable on a per web site basis on the Configuration tab of the web site.
