Disk space notifications becoming a pest? One click and they're gone

Nobody wants to max out their server’s disk space. As well as stopping you uploading new files, it can prevent processes running properly, impact your websites’ performance and even cause backups to fail. Bad news all round.

Which is why we’ve always made it easy to see how much disk space you’ve got left, on a simple status bar, right on your server menu screen. We also send out email notifications when you’re running out of room.

But here’s the thing. Depending on the size of your server, you could be running out of space for a few different reasons. Maybe you need a clear-out. Maybe you need to upgrade. Or maybe it’s just a blip – a sudden spike because you’re testing something new on your site.

Whatever the cause, our notifications are automatically sent out to warn you, and they won’t stop until you’ve got a decent amount of disk space again. But once you’ve got the message – especially if you know it’s just a temporary spike – those notifications can get a bit, well, annoying.

So, to help those of you who’ve had their fill of disk space notifications, we’ve added a new feature – the option to turn them off. As long as you keep an eye on those server status bars, you’ll still be able to spot any problems, without the distraction of all those extra emails.

How? Just click on ‘Notifications’ in the drop-down profile menu, scroll down and flick the toggle next to ‘Disk Space Notification Emails’. Then you’re free to manage your disk space, your way. Enjoy the peace and quiet!
